Ballsy?

FAKE was reviewed in last week's issue of PLAY, a weekly entertainment newspaper in Philadelphia. The critic called called the book a "true-crime page-turner" and described it as "irresistable and cautionary."

The review also characterizes me as "ballsy." I believe this is the only time a critic has used this adjective to describe my behavior. "Reckless" or "moronic" might have been more accurate, but I'm not going to complain.

i read yr book over the past two days and i really enjoyed it. it's a great story and a few times i laughed out loud. i'd agree with ballsy but the greed of the buyers certainly played into it. i went back through some art pages on ebay and you're right, if it says "signed/dated" i look at the piece. i also don't believe a lot of stuff i see but i don't buy "art" trying to make a profit. i mostly buy bootleg cd's so i know what i'm getting...good luck etc.

I read an article about the fake picture you sold on ebay. I guess it's pretty cool that you're going into the mainstream with this topic. Just to tell people how it was, that feeling doing this. I really want to read your book but I'm german and don't know where to get it. Will there be an translation? Or where can I find the english instance?

"Fake: Making money by being a heartless jerk." And you're still doing it, too. With this dumb book.

I was fooling museum curators & experts when you were sucking on your mama's nipple. Your book is not a movie. Its an entertaining conversation at best. Your not any kind of forger, and you have no idea what its like to truly fool the real art world. I thank you for your honesty, but your not in the same league with true master forgers. Ones who don't get caught, and would never write a book about it. Lets put it this way -Art I have owned hangs in almost every major Contemporary & Modern Museum in this country and many overseas. I have had 7 world experts authenticate pieces from my PERSONAL collection. If I wrote a book, they would be knocking my door down to make it into a movie.
Your a full pledged rookie.
Well, anyway good luck in your new honest angle. I know however that once larceny in your heart, it stays. Your not fooling anyone.
